Book Sale

To protect the public and library staff and volunteers, we have cancelled our 53rd Annual Pawlet Public Library Book Sale scheduled in July 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Please note that our sorting center cannot accept book donations until further notice.

The Book Sale will return in 2021!

This huge annual event is the primary fundraiser for the library. You won’t want to miss the chance to get bargains on new, used and antique books. Our all-volunteer-run event shows our community at its best, drawing shoppers from all over Vermont and nearby states. Held at the Mettawee Community School in West Pawlet because it’s so big–over 20,000 books!

Donation Guidelines

We greatly appreciate the generosity of community donations toward this valuable fundraising effort. We are pleased to accept hardcover, softcover and paperback books and audio/video items, all in good condition, WITH THE FOLLOWING EXCEPTIONS:

American Heritage

Coffee Table Books

Computer Manuals

Personal Papers

Product Manuals

Readers’ Digest

Record Albums

Teaching Guides

Textbooks (including “for Dummies”)

Time Life

Travel, Restaurant, Hotel Guides over 2 years old

Please we aware that the cost of disposing of damaged books, or books that cannot be sold, falls to the library and greatly impacts our fundraising. Please do not donate books that are moldy, falling apart, missing covers, or are in poor condition.  IF WE CAN’T SELL IT, WE CAN’T ACCEPT IT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.
