We are No Longer Accepting 2020 Book Sale Donations until Spring 2020
53rd Annual Pawlet Public Library Book Sale in 2020
Saturday, July 25, 9-4 and Sunday, July 26, 10-2
at Mettawee Community School, Rt. 153, West Pawlet, VT
This huge annual event is the primary fundraiser for the library. You won’t want to miss the chance to get bargains on new, used and antique books. Our all-volunteer-run event shows our community at its best, drawing shoppers from all over Vermont and nearby states. Held at the Mettawee Community School in West Pawlet because it’s so big–over 20,000 books!
No Longer Accepting 2020 Book Sale Donations until Spring 2020
Now that snow is in the forecast, we will not accept book donations until Spring 2020. The start date will be posted at a later date. The deadline for accepting books for this year’s sale will also be posted at a later date, but generally we close the donation window by July 1. All donations must be dropped off at our sorting center at Jed’s Compost red barn, 2519 RT 30, located four miles south of the center of Pawlet. WE NO LONGER ACCEPT DONATIONS AT THE LIBRARY.
The Book Sale is the major fundraiser for the library. We greatly appreciate the generosity of community donations toward this valuable fundraising effort. We are pleased to accept hardcover, softcover and paperback books and audio/video items, all in good condition, WITH THE FOLLOWING EXCEPTIONS:
Coffee Table Books
Textbooks (including “for Dummies”)
Travel, Restaurant, Hotel Guides over 2 years old
Please we aware that the cost of disposing of damaged books, or books that cannot be sold, falls to the library and greatly impacts our fundraising. Please do not donate books that are moldy, falling apart, missing covers, or are in poor condition. IF WE CAN’T SELL IT, WE CAN’T ACCEPT IT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.
